Celia Davies, Co-Founder and Director

Celia founded Omanos with Steve in 2017, after a conversation in a bar about how to tell stories from politically hostile locations where journalists are severely restricted in what they can safely do or say. Prior to founding Omanos, Celia spent almost a decade in the humanitarian and development sectors, working on independent media, human rights, security, and anti-corruption - primarily in the South Caucasus, Russia, and Ukraine, with local and international groups. As a relative newcomer to space tech, Celia is interested in “translating” the insights derived from satellite data into meaningful, practical outputs for anyone trying to tell a story. She has degrees from the University of Cambridge (English Literature BA) and University of Edinburgh (International Law LLM), and is a former Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Fellow (2014).

Clark space individual of the year.

Clare Rumsey, Technical Director

Clare joined Omanos Analytics in the early days and has been working to develop the prototype service providing Earth Observation data in support of communities around the world. After completing a PhD in Astrophysics and a postdoc at the University of Cambridge, she was keen to apply her image analysis experience to satellite data to aid humanitarian and environmental causes. Outside Omanos she enjoys yoga, video games, fantasy audiobooks, and over-ambitious knitting projects.

Hannah Nevill, GIS Developer

Hannah is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Imperial College London. She has previously completed research on wildland-urban interface forest fires, modelling pedestrian evacuations in 3D to aid community planning for wildfire events. She has since worked in the oil and gas industry, which included a year offshore in the North Sea. Since joining Omanos, Hannah has been applying her engineering and mathematical interests to GIS insights. Outside of work she is a keen Scottish winter climber, and loves outdoor adventures.
